I appreciate the sculpture for its calmness, static solemnity, and charm devoid of banality.

I can't think of anything particularly clever to say about this sculpture. I just liked it, that's all. It found its way into my collection from some market in France. It was so long ago that I no longer remember where it took place. The unknown artist played with form, depicting some abstract animal that does not exist in nature. One could forcefully look for certain similarities to a llama or an okapi, but realistic representation was certainly not the artist's main goal. The mold for the casting was probably created by applying successive layers of fabric stiffened with plaster. I think that the texture of the sculpture, imitating fabric, was the artist's goal.

Of course, it is impossible to avoid associations with Abakanowicz's sculptures. Especially since, if it weren't for its scale, the animal could easily stand among her Mutants. We can dream, but the sculpture is definitely not the work of the famous sculptor.

I appreciate the sculpture for its calmness, static solemnity, and charm devoid of banality. I regret that I was unable to find its author or even determine the direction of my search. I leave this pleasure to the future buyer, believing in their success and a pleasant surprise.

The sculpture is 27 cm high, the body of the animal is 9 cm long and 5 cm wide at the front. The bronze base, uniform with the sculpture, measures 11 by 7 cm.
