The sculpture depicts a male figure. It seems to me that he may be playing the violin. But everyone can have their own individual interpretation of what the sculpture represents.
The sculpture came from France. I once had a similar one, and the buyer claimed that it was made by a Belgian deaf artist. However, it was so long ago that I only remember it vaguely, without being able to clearly determine the direction of my search for the creator of the sculpture on offer.
I would classify the sculpture as art brut. The English call this movement outsider art. In short, it is expressive, spontaneous art created by artists who are in no way influenced by the cultural message of their surroundings. Jean Dubuffet devoted a lot of space in his research to mentally ill people. He amassed a huge collection of paintings by people suffering from insanity. Thanks to him, these works found their way into many important galleries and museums around the world.

The artist placed the bronze cast on granite slabs. Unfortunately, the upper layer of the base has not been preserved. Perhaps it would tell us more about the artist and his message.
It is large, 47 cm high and 14 cm wide. However, when viewed from all sides, it resembles a bas-relief rather than a three-dimensional work. The initials BR are carved into the granite slate.
