The sculpture was welded from steel sheets, making it a unique product. It is covered with a beautiful irregular texture that breaks up the raw forms, giving them a certain lightness and shimmer.
The steel bird captivated me with its simplicity. I found it in one of the small shops on Clignancourt in Paris and couldn't part with it. Even though it was heavy and my car was far away. However, I've had it for several years now and decided that it could bring joy to others.
The sculpture consists of three irregular shapes. One forms a solid base for the sculpture and at the same time counterbalances the other, the body of the bird. The third, a kind of flattened sphere, forms the head. The way the head is positioned on the body makes the bird look as if it is surprised. I have observed this "gesture" in birds many times and I think it is not so easy to capture. The tail is a simple, long wire, and I must admit that it annoyed me a little at first. Now I give the artist the right to such minimalism and I even began to like it. Speaking of the tail, it makes shipping by courier seem impossible.

The inscription ROEST is stamped on the bottom of the sculpture. This is probably not the author's name. Unfortunately, I have not been able to discover the meaning of this inscription.
The bird is 41 cm high. The base is a triangle with sides measuring 25, 23, and 23 cm. The body itself is 30 cm long, and together with the tail, 67 cm.
