The sculpture, in keeping with the date of its creation, is made in the Art Deco style. I have no doubt about this, even though the bust does not overly emphasize the characteristics of this style.

This sculpture caught my eye and wouldn't let go until I became its owner. I don't usually buy this type of sculpture. I look for interesting forms, modernity, surprising associations, and interesting messages. At sculpture markets, I glance over realistic sculptures and move on. Why was it different this time? I think I was fascinated by the truth emanating from this bust. The sculpture depicts a woman of flesh and blood. Not a wax, young, idealized doll, but a mature woman, with a wealth of experience, dignified, aware of her value despite her beauty deviating slightly from the canonical standard of beauty. There is psychological truth in her.

When I bought it, I hoped to find the author of the sculpture or at least the name of the woman portrayed. Unfortunately, the task was beyond me. I leave the discovery of this mystery to the next owner.

I was only able to confirm that the Auber studio existed, was located in a small town near Paris, and was still operating after World War II.

The bust is of excellent quality, and the casting has been carefully crafted. It is chiseled and patinated. There are no reservations about its condition.

The sculpture is quite large. It is 31 cm high, 21 cm wide, and 19 cm deep.
