I will not go into detail about Dali's life. There is probably not a single person with even a passing interest in art who has not come across a description of the artist's achievements or his works. Dali was a master of self-promotion. Works bearing his signature can be found in every field of the visual arts. The artist made films, painted pictures, and sculpted. He worked in metal, clay, stone, and plastic. He decorated glass, porcelain, and silver. He was an extremely prolific graphic artist and poster designer, illustrated books, and even wrote them himself.

Sometimes I even thank God that Dali lived when he did. It's scary to think what would have happened if the artist had had today's technology at his disposal. Computers and the internet.

The set on offer consists of the original box designed by Dali, a porcelain plate, and a perfume bottle also made according to his design.

According to the certificate on the back, the plate was made in the Limoges factory, has the number 1865, and was produced in an edition of 4,000 copies. The front of the plate is decorated with "The Persistence of Memory," a representation of a soft clock. This is perhaps the most recognizable symbol in Salvador Dali's work. Over time, it has become a hallmark of the entire surrealist movement.

The shape of the perfume bottle can also be considered similarly symbolic. Dali once wrote that to be a surrealist, one must spend one's entire life painting eyes and noses. Here, we have lips instead of eyes, but the nose is the right size and, in addition, double-sided.

Unfortunately, the set is not in the best condition. This is especially true of the box and the plastic base for the plate and bottle. I suspect that the perfume spilled during transport and partially dissolved the thin plastic. It has been repaired, but the mark remains. The plate is in perfect condition, without scratches or damage. The perfume bottle is similar, although the matte plastic surface is slightly dirty. There is a remnant of perfume with an intense scent.

The box measures 27 x 25 x 15 cm. The diameter of the plate is 22.5 cm. The bottle is 12 cm high and 10 cm wide.
