Panel. Dom ceremonialny. Sepik. Papua...
PLN1,400.00The ceilings and some of the walls of these buildings were entirely covered with painted panels. I feel genuine admiration when looking at photographs of the interiors of these buildings. The more enthusiastic art critics compare their significance to that of Gothic cathedrals in Europe.

Walka koziorożców. Świecznik. Stop...
PLN700.00The silhouettes of two fighting capricorns form a harmonious whole, and although fighting is usually associated with chaos and dynamism, this composition seems static. Even the asymmetry of the candlestick does not disturb it. The artist used minimalist geometric forms to tell us that everything in this fight is predetermined, no blood will be shed, that it is only about establishing the position of the alpha male, that this is how it has always been in nature.

Akuaba. Aszanti. Gana. XX wiek.
PLN500.00The sculpture has changed significantly over the years. Initially, it was almost a stick with a large head, but now it is an almost fully three-dimensional sculpture of a woman surrounded by her offspring. The only thing that remains unchanged in the sculpture is the large, round head symbolizing the moon, which is the embodiment of the goddess responsible for fertility.

Postać wodza. Luluwa. Drewno. Kongo....
PLN900.00According to Luluwa beliefs, the figure of the chief is inhabited by the spirits of ancestors. It protects the village and individual households. It enhances the authority of the ruling chief, who is responsible for the continuity of tribal traditions and connection with the beliefs of previous generations.

Hammer man. Człowiek młot. Żelazo. XX...
PLN700.00And although, like steampunk, it uses elements of existing material reality, it is closer to constructivism or futurism, which assume a connection between man and machine, rejecting the relics of the past, rejecting decorativeness, and subordinating art to human needs.

Kobieta niosąca wodę. Mosiądz. Dohra....
PLN400.00What captivated me about this sculpture was what many would consider a flaw. Its primitivism, particularly evident in the way the face and hands were crafted. This adds authenticity to the sculpture. The artist-craftsman made the figure just as his ancestor did two thousand years ago.
